Meet Celaena Sardothien.
Beautiful. Deadly. Destined for greatness.

In the dark, filthy salt mines of Endovier, an eighteen-year-old girl is serving a life sentence. She is a trained assassin, the best of her kind, but she made a fatal mistake. She got caught.

Young Captain Westfall offers her a deal: her freedom in return for one huge sacrifice. Celaena must represent the prince in a to-the-death tournament – fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. Live or die, Celaena will be free. Win or lose, she is about to discover her true destiny. But will her assassin’s heart be melted?

My opinion

After reading ‘A court of thorns and roses‘ and ‘A court of mist and fury‘ I was so in love with the way Sarah J. Maas writes that I had to buy ‘Throne of Glass’ when I was on holiday in Scotland. When I first started this book, I was kinda afraid that this was way too much fantasy for me, but once I got into the book.. Boy oh boy, I really wanted to keep on reading.

Sarah J. Maas for me is the queen in her genre, because the way she builds the worlds in her stories, is just amazing. You almost don’t feel like it’s a fantasy world because it’s so easy to get into Celaena’s world. There hasn’t been one moment in the story that I missed the history of the world or felt like it was dragging to read about that world to get to know it.

I think that’s soooo clever because I didn’t got bored one second whilst reading. At moments I felt ‘Throne of Glass’ was so thrilling that I forgot about everything around me. And I find it so cool that she’s put another kickass female lead character who has to make tough choices in her book again.

‘Throne of Glass’ has quickly become one of my new favorite series, but since I’m on a book buying ban, I have to wait a while before contuining this series. I cannot wait, because I absolutely loved ‘Throne of Glass’.

Conclusion

‘Throne of Glass’ is another amazingly fabulous first book in a series by Sarah J. Maas. The kickass female lead in a cool fantasy world has entertained me from start to finish.
