She knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead.
Twenty years as an army brat and Ember Howard knew, too. The soldiers at the door meant her dad was never coming home. What she didn’t know was how she would find the strength to singlehandedly care for her crumbling family when her mom falls apart.
Then Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her over and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.
Until Josh’s secret shatters their world. And Ember must decide if he’s worth the risk that comes with loving a man who could strip her bare.
I love the books by Colleen Hoover, they make you swoon every time. ‘Full measures’ was the first book I’d read by Rebecca Yarros and I really enjoyed it.
The story starts off quite intense when Ember loses her father and that kinda shocked me because I really didn’t expect that. Then she meets Josh and the new adult part of the book starts. The romance, steamy sex scenes and fights all alternate, all the while Ember tries to fix her life.
I read ‘Full measures’ on the tram to and from work and I often was glad there was nobody next to me who could read my screen. The sex scenes are quite graphical but not too steamy, which fits the New Adult label perfectly. ‘Full measures’ is a great book which is also about the choices Ember makes that have nothing to do with love but more about how she spends the rest of her life, which makes it a little more interesting to me.
‘Full measures’ by Rebecca Yarros is a typical NA in which steamy sex scenes, love and fights alternate. Rebecca Yarros adds a little bit more to the story which makes it a little more interesting.
